Summary:
A Korean government funded research institute in the field of ICT technologies has developed a sound field security sensor technology. Based upon that technology, it is looking for R-Y-D partners to apply a proposal for a EUREKA project on smart home CCTV(closed circuit television) or network camera that is able to sense early stage of fire or intruder everywhere even at a blind spot. The expected duration of this R-Y-D is 3 years and deadline of applying the project will be by August, 2016.
Description:
As a Korean government funded research institute in the area of electronics and mobile communications, having plenty of experiences in the international collaboration R-Y-D with US and EU entities on sensor technology, it is searching partners to collaborate with for the proposal of EUREKA project and global commercialization about the following subject.

The subject is regarding smart home CCTV and network camera that is able to sense the early stage of fire or intruder even in blind spot. After sensing the event, alarm message will be sent to a smart phone in order to get "golden time" for the fast reaction in fire emergency situation. This new developed technology will overcome the weak points of conventional intrusion detection sensors such as difficulty in dark or blind spot and alarming errors.

Desired partners are the companies in the industrial fields of mobile telecommunications, IoT(Internet of Things) security service, home CCTV, security sensors such as Vodafone, T-mobile, Axis, Bosch.

England is more desirable to cooperate with because the institute is already collaborating with one of the companies in the UK, but any countries in EU are also welcomed.
The expected R-Y-D duration is for 3 years. And roles of the each partner for the R-Y-D project will be as follows.

Partners in South Korea : Home CCTV company and reliability test and standardization institute for fire and intrusion detection

Framework: Two consortiums in South Korea and EU will propose EUREKA project in parallel. And South Korea consortium will develop home CCTV based on sound field security sensor, and EU consortium will co-develop smart home IoT security system and launch global commercialization service in EU and other countries.

The Expected date of submitting the EUREKA proposal will be by August 19, 2016. The deadline for receiving expressions of interest will be no later than July 22nd. Also, the expected duration to complete this project is three years.

-Highly reliable security technology that detects and classifies security events such as fire or intrusion even in blind spot based on sound transfer function variation using a speaker and microphone set in security spaces
- Solution to the problem of conventional intrusion sensors such as dark or blind area, and the intrusion with blocking body heat in CCTV, ultrasonic, and PIR(Passive Infrared Ray) sensors
- Solution to the problem of conventional fire sensors such as late detection and blind spot in thermometer, smoke, and flame based fire sensors
