Un centro de I+D islandés busca un socio industrial, concretamente un operador logístico que utilice camiones, para presentar una propuesta al programa H2020 (GV-8-215: Mejora del rendimiento de vehículos eléctricos e integración en el sistema de transporte y la red). El consorcio está desarrollando una solución informática para el sector de transporte y va a probarla en un camión eléctrico con remolque. La solución incluye un sistema de energía, una estación de carga y descarga de alto voltaje y una plataforma de comunicación con módulo de optimización para ofrecer al usuario la secuencia de carga/descarga más económica. Se busca un socio industrial para completar el consorcio.

Description:
An Icelandic R-Y-D Institution seeks a partner for a research cooperation agreement for a H2020 proposal: Electric vehicles´ enhanced performance and integration into the transport system and the grid, GV-8-215. Funding is for 100% of costs.

Overall aim of the project:
The aim is to integrate the cycle of the energy management and ICT based re-charging management for an Electric Vehicle (EV), in order to offer a comprehensive management system that provides an ergonomic and seamless user support. Such integration should build upon existing technology standards and may address:

- Digital support for EVs such as common information model, market place interaction, and service provision based on wireless and/or power line communication interfaces, roaming management energy consumption and supply as well as cost.
- Interoperability of EVs with the communication infrastructure and electricity grid regarding locally deployed smart-grid and smart-metering systems while investigating arising operational issues.

Information and communication technologies (ICT) significantly contribute to enhancing the energy system operations, and thus the range of the vehicle, by providing accurate prediction of the range and offering personalised options and services to the driver. Furthermore the ICT supports recharging that is coordinated with the local electric system (grid, production, market) capabilities. Such coordination must accommodate not only passenger EVs, but also meet the requirements of electric busses, vans or trucks, which are expected to require high-powered fast recharging.

Project Description:
The consortium intends to develop an economically feasible solution for the most heavy duty transport and demonstrate it in an electric 44 ton truck -Y- trailer. The solution includes:
- a new truck energy system design.
- a high voltage charging and de-charging station able to provide valuable service to the grid.
- a communication platform with optimisation module providing the user the most economic charging/de-charging sequence.

Status:
The consortium seeks a partner to extend the different user views; a logistics operator using trucks and operating with a significant number of trips <150 km.
Currently the recruited participant group consist of a project coordinator, independent automotive engineering service party for the development of an electric truck and trailer, battery supplier, charging station supplier, software developer, energy market specialist, a research institute and a large distributor operating hundreds of trucks. These participants are from Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Iceland.
