El objetivo del proyecto es mejorar y lanzar al mercado un sistema híbrido de pilas de combustible diseñado para aumentar el tiempo de ejecución de fuentes de energía renovable primarias. La empresa busca socios industriales en el sector de EPS (Electrical Power System) para comercializar el nuevo sistema híbrido de pilas de combustible. La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 7 de abril de 2017 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 10 de marzo.

Summary:
An innovative company based in the Milan area, developer and manufacturer of an advanced, lightweight technology for portable and stationary power generation and storage, is going to apply for the Innoenergy call. The project aims to improve and bring into the market a hybrid fuel cell system designed to extend runtime of primary renewable energy sources. Industrial partners active in the Electrical Power System field are sought for the commercialization of the novel hybrid fuel cell.
Description:
The project aims to develop, realize and start the go to market effort of hybrid power generators designed to extend runtime of primary renewable energy sources. Wind turbine and solar panel are cost effective in off-grid contest; however a drawback of RES (renewable enrgy sources) is the variability; wind tends to run intermittently and solar power is only available during the daytime. Our hybrid fuel cell system is tightly integrated with a lithium storage unit. Hydrogen is produced on site with a PEM (Polymer Electrolyt Membrane) electrolyzer or alternatively through a fuel processor. The lithium battery storage system is an instantaneous buffer of energy that dynamically smooth fluctuation of energy between RES and the load. The PEM fuel cell unit fulfills the needs of electric energy when RES and lithium batteries are out of works for long time. A device embedding predictive control algorithms optimizes the energy flow and it provides the power conditioning.
Some prototypes have been already developed at TRL5 and installed in the field. The Innoenergy project aims to shorten the time to market, get an investment funding and turn prototypes into commercial products within five years.
The partner sought should be active in EPS (Electrical Power System) field and should collaborate in integrating, installing and commercializing the technology in application fields (i.e. Telecom Towers). The overall budget for the project is: 2 Millions Euro.

Any type of company ranging from newly created start-ups to large companies is acceptable.: The Partner should provide support for the go-to-market phase with a specific role in: · Make proposal engineering of HPS (Hybrid Power Source) · Provide engineering, procurement services of the overall energy system to end users. · Manage Authorization and Installation · Manage Site Acceptance Tests and Commissioning A EU research institute has been already involved in the project consortium.
