Description:
The aim of the development program is to offer a cost-effective system whereby patient´s movement characteristics can be captured. This may be used during treatment and monitoring of MSK conditions (Musculoskeletal disorders). The system will provide the clinician with a tool to engage patients, encouraging them to look after their health and long-term well-being. The UK company has developed a first working prototype, but they need a partner to automate the work flow and this will involve integrating various software.
The UK company is a start-up but the owner has been successful in securing funding for others project and has experience in writing applications.

The call deadline for phase 1 project is 07 Nov 2017 and the company is looking to establish a first contact by 04 Oct 2017.
Advantages and Innovations:
There are 10 million people consulting their GP in the UK every year for Musculoskeletal (MSK) problems, with a large proportion requiring repeat consultation for ongoing pain. There are 10 million associated working days lost every year and MSK disorders cost the UK £5.7b annually.
The system is portable and low cost, and can be implemented widely. There is therefore a great cost reduction opportunity for Health services and the wider society. Those benefits would be accompanied by a faster recovery/return to work which represents an additional societal and economic benefit. Market research has highlighted many potential applications.
