Una pyme coreana especializada en LED está preparando un proyecto internacional de I+D dentro del programa Eureka. El objetivo es desarrollar un sistema de iluminación LED para exterior y una fábrica con células solares con tinte fotosensible y sistema de captura de energía. La empresa busca un socio que diseñe el sistema de captura de energía para su aplicación en el sistema de iluminación LED. La propuesta será presentada en marzo de 2017.


Development of outdoor Light-Emitting Diode(LED) lighting system with dye-sensitized solar cell and energy harvest system
A Korean SME specializing in LED is preparing an international joint R-Y-D proposal under the EUREKA programme. The project is about developing a LED lighting system for outdoors and a factory with dye-sensitized solar cell and energy harvest system. The company is looking for a partner who can design an energy harvest system and apply it to LED lighting system. The EUREKA proposal is planning to be submitted by March of 2017.
Currently, outdoor lighting system(i.e. Streetlight) employed crystalline photovoltaic (PV) cell is introduced in many countries. Even though this crystalline PV cell based lighting system reduces the energy than that of conventional lighting system, there are some hurdles to overcome as follows,

- Rainy or cloudy weather decreases the power generation performance dramatically, therefore other power sources are definitely necessary
- Also, shorter lifespan of incandescent lamp causes more management cost than LED lamp

So, a Korean SME is going to develop a new lighting system consisting of dye-sensitized Solar cell and LED lamp. They would like to apply this new system into outdoor lighting (i.e. Streetlight) and indoor lighting (i.e. huge factory).
This Korean SME has expertise in LED lamp with patents and resources for development of dye-sensitized solar cell.
The company is looking for a European partner who can design and integrate power generation system which uses wind and vibration as an energy source. The turbine type should be vertical shape which is less influenced by wind direction and doesn´t cover the solar cell. The target power generation is at least 10 watt that can light LED lamp. Also, the European partner is able to integrate energy harvest equipment, storage, and power supply system with LED lighting module. The partner can be a company or a research institute.

The name of the project is "Development of outdoor LED lighting system with Dye-sensitized solar cell and energy harvest system" and this Korea SME wants to submit a EUREKA project by March, 2017 with European companies and research institutes. Accordingly, the deadline of the EOI will be by March 1st, 2017.
Advantages and Innovations:
- Possible to provide various installation options by employment of flexible based dye-sensitized solar cell or glass based dye-sensitized solar cell.
- Sufficient power supply independently to lighting system using renewable energy sources (Wind, Vibration, Sun and so on)
- In case of dye-sensitized solar cell, it is specifically less dependent on unfavorable weather condition (rainy or cloudy weather) ,so its result has greater merits than any other solar cell
- LED lighting provides less energy and more durability than conventional lighting system
