Una pyme italiana está preparando una propuesta para la fase 2 de Instrumento Pyme. La empresa ha desarrollado y patentado un nuevo motor Stirling para recuperar calor de gases de escape de motores de combustión interna y transformar el calor en electricidad. La empresa busca fabricantes de sistemas de cogeneración de biomasa (CHP) interesados en validar y adaptar la tecnología a sistemas de cogeneración antiguos o a microplantas de cogeneración nuevas. La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 18 de enero de 2017 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés termina a finales de diciembre de 2016.


SME-Instrument Phase 2: looking for producers of biomass cogeneration systems
A SME based in Italy is preparing a SME Instrument (Phase 2) proposal. They have patented and developed an innovative stirling engine that can recover the heat from the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines and transform it in electricity. They are looking for producers of biomass cogeneration systems (CHP) that are interested in validating the technology adapting it in old CHP system (re-fitting) or in new micro CHP plants.
The SME has partented an innovative configuration of a stirling engine that allows to work at low temperature, low pressure and low torque.
The sizes of of the envines actually avaliable are 1 / 2,5 / 6 kWe.
There are many application fields but after doing a market assessment the company decided to use the stirling to recover thermal energy from biomass cogeneration systems (CHP).
They have already established collaboration with local producers of boilers and now that they are applying to the H2020 SME Instrument call they would like to start new collaborations with foreign industrial partners that are willing to be part of the further development and on field validation of the technology adapted in old CHP system (re-fitting) or in new micro CHP plants. The companies might take part to the project as partners or subcontractors. The call deadline for the phase 2 is 18 January 2017 and the company is looking to establish a first contact with a potential partner by the end of December 2016.
The company participated also in a FP7 project (that allowded them to prototype a 6kWe engine used to recover the heat from the diesel engine of a fishing vessel to produce ice) and is now involved in a H2020 project where they will produce two bigger stirling engines that will be part of two eco-designed micro-scale anaerobic digestion systems.
