Una empresa macedonia está desarrollando un proyecto dentro de los fondos de Visegrad para promover la colaboración regional entre ONGs y organizaciones de la sociedad civil, instituciones públicas y ayuntamientos, empresas privadas, organismos sin ánimo de lucro y centros de educación e investigación que contribuyan a la cooperación en la región de Visegrad. El proyecto tiene como objetivo cambiar el enfoque de los ciudadanos locales hacia un comportamiento medioambientalmente más sostenible. Los temas a tratar incluyen gestión de residuos, soluciones inteligentes y sostenibilidad en urbanización, gestión de residuos y seguridad, consumo de energía sostenible y transiciones energéticas, transporte sostenible y otros aspectos importantes. La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 1 de febrero de 2019 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 1 de diciembre de 2018.

A Macedonian company is developing a project under Visegrad grants support regional partnerships among NGOs and civil society organizations, public institutions and municipalities, private companies and nonprofit organizations as well as education and research centers that contribute to cooperation in the Visegrad region. This R-Y-D project aims at shifting the focus of the local citizens towards environmentally more sustainable behavior.
Description:
Societal perspective on environmental issues is an important factor towards building of healthy society. As an aspiring EU country, Macedonian society is facing many challenges in transitioning to EU country. Environmental issues in Macedonia are getting out of the attention scope for a long period of time. Political issues are regularly taking the spot which environment deserves to have in the Macedonian society. Having in mind the chronic problems with water and air pollution, waste management and lack of appropriate landfills, protection of forests and biodiversity and sustainable resources management, environmental issues are probably the crucial issues which should be regulated in the face of EU membership negotiations.
One of the main challenges on this road for Macedonia is the lack of awareness of sustainability practices. Visegrad group countries: Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic have already overcome some of the obstacles. Their environmental civil society organizations have rich experience in managing the aforementioned issues and rising of the citizen´s awareness. Taking into consideration the close cultural connections and similar economic problems, the environmental civil society organizations from these four countries would be the best knowledge communicators for organizations of the society citizens. This project will be consisted of implementing actions towards raising awareness on different sustainability topics. Experienced environmental sustainability professionals, each in their own field of expertise, will bring insights from the similar problems solutions in the Visegrad group countries. Using the experience of the countries that went through the process of transition and EU accession, the Macedonian participants will use the experiences from the partners and organize 4 different events with each partner and try to influence the perception of the society about this issues.

The aim of the project is to shift the focus of the Macedonian citizens towards environmentally more sustainable behavior. This aim will be achieved through following steps:
Using modern and creative approaches, the society will get informed and be involved in implementing sustainable practices. The idea is to lead by example - demonstrate sustainable practices on a creative way and every event will be supported with different partner from the Visegrad four countries and the Macedonian partner as project lead.
Sustainable leaders from Macedonia and the Visegrad four countries will help increase the collective consciousness of the society about the environmental problems that the society is facing.
