Un instituto de investigación alemán está interesado en presentar una propuesta al programa Horizonte 2020 sobre desgate de troqueles en herramientas de forja multidireccionales. El centro quiere analizar el desgaste de los diferentes elementos de las herramientas en ensayos de grandes lotes. Tanto el material de las herramientas como los muelles se someterán al análisis. Además el proyecto incluye la caracterización de materiales de las partes sometidas a desgaste mecánico. Se buscan socios industriales e investigadores con el know-how adecuado. La fecha límite es el 1 de septiembre de 2015 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés se extiende hasta finales de julio.

FTIPilot-1-2015 - Die wear analysis of multidirectional forging tools
Summary:
A German research institute plans to submit a Horizon 2020 project proposal on the die wear of multidirectional forging tools. In the project the institute wants to analyse the wear of the different tool elements in large batch trials. The tool material as well as the springs are subject to the analysis. Additionally material characterization of the parts subject to mechanical wear is part of the project. Project partners from research and industry with the respective know-how are sought.
Description:
To give the technology "multidirectional forging" the last push-to- market, the die wear behaviour of the tools needs to be improved due to the missing knowledge of the die wear within the tool.

Within an earlier research project (REForCh FP7-SME-315106) a multidirectional forging technology was developed for a flash reduced forging sequence of a two-cylinder crankshaft.

The multidirectional forging tool was successfully tested under industrial conditions. The tool manufacturer needs some additional development to give this multidirectional forging technology the last push to market.

This last push is to improve the multidirectional forging by investigating the die wear behavior. The die wear within the tool, meaning not the wear due to the workpiece but the wear due to different moving parts of the forging tool e.g. dies moving on wedges, used springs (disc springs and compression springs as well), etc.

To improve the multidirectional forging tool, the German institute wants to investigate the wear of these parts to get an understanding which factors influences the occurring die wear so that a statement about the die life is possible.

The institute is looking for project partners from research and industry having expertise in / experience with springs, wear and forging.

The deadline for the proposal submission under H2020-FTIPilot-2015-1 is 01.09.2015.

Expressions of interest from potential project partners are expected till the end of July 2015.
