H2020 BBI-R09 Research centres and companies for exploiting algae and aquatic biomass for production of molecules for pharma, nutraceuticals, food additives
Summary:
An Italian research centre is interested in finding suitable partners to apply for the H2020 call BBI-2016-R09 with the aim of exploiting algae -Y- aquatic biomass for production of molecules for pharma, nutraceuticals, food additives -Y- cosmetic applications. The research centre already has a few partners involved in the consortium and is looking for companies for further exploiting the technology developed (building pilot plants, target market applications) via research cooperation agreement.
Description:
An Italian research centre specialized in ICT applications, including modeling applications, to every sector and in particular biotech, biomed, renewable energies, is interested in building a consortium and submit a project under the call BBI-2016-R09 of Horizon 2020 (with deadline 08 September 2016).
The research centre is interested in applying own expertise in building mathematical models for process engineering, and software tools applicable to microalgae growth experiments or harvesting, dewatering, cell disruption, metabolite extraction and purification. In detail such expertise will be applied within the project aimed at exploiting algae and other aquatic biomass for production of molecules for pharma, nutraceuticals, food additives and cosmetic applications.
In present conditions, the research centre already has some partners included in the consortium aimed at H2020 project submission. Competencies are from research and academia and cover cultivation and purification of microalgae; the Italian research centre is looking for companies and/or research centres that could further exploit the outcomes of research project (both in pilot plant realization and in finding further applications suitable to research project).
