Una organización búlgara va a participar como coordinador en un proyecto dentro de la convocatoria CULT-COOP-09-2017, en el campo de actividad "Patrimonio cultural europeo, acceso y análisis para una interpretación más rica del pasado". El proyecto se centrará en una nueva interpretación de un monumento de Varna (Bulgaria) en una época socialista controvertida y en su transformación en un emblema cultural en el que confluyen pasado y futuro, creando un lugar contemporáneo que una la nación en vez de dividirla. La empresa busca dos socios con experiencia en I+D para completar el consorcio y llevar a cabo actividades de investigación básica, asistencia en visualización y difusión. La fecha límite de la primera fase de la convocatoria es el 2 de febrero de 2017 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 28 de diciembre de 2016.

The company would like to attract 2 partners to form the consortium, where the type and role of the partner could be organisations with sufficient R-Y-D experience in the field in order to perform basic research, support in visualization and dissemination.
Description:
The project will be focused to new interpretation of a controversial socialist era remnant monument located in town Varna, Bulgaria and its eventual transformation to appropriate cultural spot, where past and present can meet each other so that to produce contemporary place which rather will unite the nation than to divide it.

There might be many ways for archive this project target including 3-D visualization, transformation of existing monument premises and overall internal structure, performance of narrowly focused seminars devoted to effects on remaining socialist monuments on overall European heritage, memory, identity and cultural interaction - with its positive and negative aspects, usage of digital cultural materials etc.

In order to better understand and inform the present by richer interpretations of the past, the project is designed to create affordable and efficient digital access, documentary methods analysis and preservation services for cultural resources. This is planned to be achieved by tackling issues such as automatic contextualisation and identification of content and by developing analytical tools, including methods for automatically finding content which is semantically similar to a given item, or content which is related to a given high-level concept. This aspect also calls for fundamental work related to the philosophy of meta-data designs especially of language-based data that should be in close coherence with the architecture and typology of human conceptual systems.

Partners sought will be specialists (Dr. degree or above) in socialist era cultural heritage research area ( probably located within post-Soviet eastern block countries)

Expected Impact:
Improve the understanding of the rich diversity of European cultural heritage and create added value for the society by providing humanities researchers, journalists, policy makers and the interested public with new ways of finding answers to their questions about European cultural heritage and history.
