A group of 3 Spanish complementary partners (a University, an engineering company and an architectural firm) is willing to submit a proposal to H2020-EE-10-2016: Supporting accelerated and cost-effective deep renovation of buildings. The goal of the call is to demonstrate and promote innovative processes and technical solutions leading to higher quality, faster and more cost-effective deep renovation of buildings. The group seeks partners experienced in this field to complete the consortium.
Description:
A group composed until now by 3 Spanish complementary partners (a University, an engineering company and an architectural firm) is looking for other partners experienced as them in energy efficiency in buildings, in order to submit a common proposal to the H2020-EE-10-2016: "Supporting accelerated and cost-effective deep renovation of buildings through Public Private Partnership (EeB PPP).
Problem to be addressed: According to Article 9 of the Energy Performance Buildings Directive (EPBD), Member States shall ensure that by the end of 2020 (2018 for public buildings), all new buildings are Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEB). However, progress is slower than expected and requires the development of cost reduction solutions. Demonstration of means for cost reduction would stimulate the market. In addition, the lessons learnt from demonstration projects and front-runners could prove valuable for the sector, facilitate the process and provide further stimulation. Finally, there is also a need to look beyond the NZEB performance levels with a longer term perspective.
Proposed solution: The objective of the project is to design and test modular constructive solutions that can be applied for deep renovation of buildings (to achieve energy savings exceeding 60% compared to pre-renovation levels). These solutions should take into account the typology of the building and the adaptation to climate.
Expected impact: The final purposes are to increase the market uptake of NZEBs, to improve user experience of these buildings and to increase public awareness of the need for such buildings and of the role played by end users.
Expertise provided: The initial group of 3 partners has participated in projects of: new NZEB for collective housing in areas of very low solar radiation and cheap market price; rehabilitation of a neighbourhood (200 social housing) with district heating (renewable energy); industrialized construction of NZEB with lightweight concrete; etc.
Expertise sought: A SME to propose solutions for cost reduction of new NZEBs and buildings with performance beyond NZEB level; a SME to explore and monitor solutions that improve the end user experience of these buildings and to demonstrate the cost reduction and energy savings for the whole life-cycle of the building; and a R-Y-D institution to contribute to the project with their know-how on the field of energy efficiency and possibly engage to a certification process.

Partner sought

Partner Sought:
The proposers seek partners that can add value to their future proposal. The ideal partners are companies not too small or R-Y-D institutions, but they are open to any suggestion. The project coordinator role has not still assigned. The consortium is expected to be integrated by around 6 or 7 partners in total (currently there are 3). The following partners are being sought to complete the consortium (the scope of the project and the profile of the partners is open to any suggestion, since the topic is not restricted to building materials or staff costs on the construction site and proposals could address one or more aspects of the construction process: inception, planning, design, pre-fabrication, on-site operations and post-construction reviews): +SME: To propose solutions for cost reduction of new NZEBs and buildings with performance beyond NZEB level. This company should be able to market the resulting solutions. +SME: To explore and monitor solutions that improve the end user experience of these buildings. This company should also be able to demonstrate the cost reduction and energy savings for the whole life-cycle of the building. +R-Y-D institution: To contribute to the project with their know-how on the field of energy efficiency and possibly engage to a certification process. This institution could be the project coordinator as well.
