H2020-FCT-04: End-users (national law enforcement agency Forces, Ministry of Interior, etc.) for a proposal on internet forensics to combat organized crime
Summary:
A Spanish SME company, specialised in ICT solutions and with wide experience coordinating European projects, is looking for end-users (national law enforcement agency Forces, Ministry of Interior, etc.) to take part in a consortium aimed to extract, analyze and link available information on the Internet for identifying fraud networks and cyber criminals. The proposal will be submitted to the call FCT-04-2015: Internet Forensics to combat organized crime.
Description:
The aim of this project is to extract, analyze and link available information on the Internet for identifying fraud networks and cyber criminals.
Another main objective is to find stolen online bank credentials and credit cards, in order to report to financial entities and to their victims. These challenges will be faced with lawful techniques and without breaking the privacy of Internet users.

To achieve the ambitious objectives, this project will rely on disruptive Big Data technologies. By using Big Data analytics to firstly extract and store, and secondly, look for patterns of fraudulent behavior in enormous amounts of unstructured and structured data, stakeholders will be able to detect and prevent fraud activities. Innovative software strategies like massive graph analysis, scalable streaming processing or NoSQL-based data storage will allow analyzing complex information in minutes as compared to days or months before implementing a big data platform in order to find unknown insights from data using data mining and machine learning techniques. Digital Forensics techniques and procedures will be used in order to guarantee the reliability and integrity of analyzed data.
