H2020-FETOPEN-2014-2015-RIA: SME partners sought for developing and commercializing novel optical materials
Summary:
A Swedish R&D institute is part of a consortium applying to Horizon 2020-FETOPEN-2014-2015-RIA, deadline 2015-09-29. The project concerns the development of optical materials e.g. photo-refractive materials, non-linear optical materials and polarizers. The consortium is looking for SMEs within the EU with suitable competence, which are interested in commercializing research results from that field.
Description:
A Swedish research & development institute, with focus on defence and security R & D, is part of a newly formed consortium, aiming to submit a Horizon 2020 application, specifically to the call "FET-OPEN - Novel ideas for radically new technologies - Research projects" (H2020-FETOPEN-2014-2015-RIA). Call deadline 2015-09-29.

The basic project idea concerns development of doped silica glass materials in which the doping molecules are ordered/oriented in the matrix, e.g. photo-refractive materials, non-linear optical materials and polarizers.
Possible applications are phase-conjugation mirrors, optical limiters and optical switches.

The project is planned to start mid 2016, have a duration time of three years and a budget of 2 - 4 M€.

The consortium is looking for SMEs within the EU, with competence in applications for novel optical materials in particular where order has an impact. The SMEs should be interested in commercializing the research results.

Deadline for responding to this partner search: 2015-05-31.
