Un centro de investigación checo está preparando una propuesta para la próxima convocatoria de fábricas del futuro del programa H2020 (H2020-FOF-06-2017). El objetivo del proyecto es desarrollar una nueva tecnología de texturizado láser de superficies para mejorar las propiedades tribológicas de materiales. Se buscan centros de investigación especializados en modelización en el campo de fricción de superficies y dos empresas (usuario final de la industria de automoción y fabricante de hardware para procesamiento láser de superficies) con el fin de formar el consorcio. La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 19 de enero de 2017 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 30 de junio de 2016.

A Czech research centre is preparing a project proposal to next call of factories of future in H2020 (H2020-FOF-06-2017). The project will be focused on the development of new technology of laser surface texturing for enhancing tribological properties of materials. Research centre dealing with modelling in the field of surface friction and two companies (end user - for example from automotive industry; producer of hardware for laser surface processing) are sought to establish the consortium.
Description:
As a response to increasing competition in global markets, many industrial sectors (e.g. automotive, aerospace, tooling or packaging) aim at improving their product performances through surface functionalisation. One way to reach this goal is to differentiate between a product body and its surface, where specific properties can be tailored.

The Czech research centre located in the west part of the Czech Republic is developing new technologies based on laser texturing of materials for enhancing their properties such as surface friction (decreasing surface friction for sliding bearings; increasing surface friction for cutting mechanical machines for textiles and plastics), optical properties (increasing emissivity in infrared spectre for enhanced heat transfer and light absorption; decreasing emissivity for reduction of heat transfer), wettability and hardness. This centre is willing to submit project proposal to next call of factories of future in Horizon 2020 which will be open on September 20th 2016. The project will be focused on the development of new technology of laser surface texturing for enhancing tribological properties of materials, especially for low friction applications like sliding bearing and piston rings. The research centre has developed new laser texturing method enabling high productivity laser surface texturing without thermal degradation. This laser texturing method is based on effective use of high power pulsed lasers. The research centre will apply this method to effective laser process tribological surfaces in automotive and other industries to ensure fuel savings and better functionality of components in friction. Another aim of the project is to push forward the use of laser texturing for tribological applications closer to the real applications in industry.
