El socio buscado se encargará de validar el sistema y de realizar los estudios de mercado y el plan de negocio. The partner sought role is to validate the system and to carry out the market analysis and the business plan.
Description:
The objective project (InSiPad) objective is to develop an advanced in situ diagnostic tool for early detection and warning of waterborne pathogens. The system will be implemented specifically for Legionella pneumophila due the high risk of legionellosis in some specific environments, such as cooling waters, air conditioning systems and sanitary hot waters and its high impact in the sanitary and socio-economic sector. The projected device is a very cost effective system for detecting the presence of Legionella pneumophila in situ, through plug-Y-play microfluidic disposable biochips, and portable and easy handling optical reader devices. Although the culture method remains the "gold standard" for detecting Legionella from environmental sources, this technique, unfortunately, requires up to 10 days to complete, precious time that could be used to pinpoint Legionella sources and prevent additional exposures. InSiPaD project will be a very valuable system for an early detection, although other conventional methods still may have to be used or remain compulsory due to the normalization and regulation in some cases. Thus, InSiPad project will make feasible to have an advanced diagnostic tool compatible with other established alternative diagnostic technologies, but with the capability of ensuring sensitive, rapid, in situ and affordable analysis, and that can be easily use for the end-users in their facilities. This kind of system is required for the end user for a rapid detection of the microorganisms. In this sense from the market perspective, more that 7 million of Legionella analysis are performed annually in Europe. The final objective of InSiPaD project is to produce a high-quality sensing system including its Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) that can be accepted by final users to accelerate the commercialization of this device.

The following partners have already joined the consortium:

-A Spanish SME is participating in the optical reader device, where its previous experience for developing Point-of-Care (PoCs) solutions is considered to be a key point within this proposal.

-A German SME, focused on the design, realization and volume fabrication of lab-on-a-chip systems, will mainly lead the development of the microfluidic disposables and support the integration tasks.

-A French SME will carry out the evaluation and selection of Legionella antibodies and the development of high affinity and high specificity monoclonal own antibodies against Legionella, based on its expertise acquired during its 35-year history and its exclusive technology.

-A Spanish Research Institute will be responsible for the optical transducers, biochip-kits based on a patented technology, adapted to the specifications required for the InSiPaD applications. It will also participate in the system integration.

An additional partner is sought to complete the consortium: An European Industry partner in the field of water analysis will contribute in the validation of the new developed system following ISO 17025 in order to be easily introduced within the European market. The partner sought will also carry out the marketing strategy (market study, business and financial planning, commercialization strategy).

The cut-off deadline for the submission of this H2020-FTIPilot-2016 (InSiPad) is 25th October and the deadline for expressions of interest is 7th October.
