H2020-ICT-16-2017: Searching for SME or big industry to provide a big data pilot use case
Summary:
A Spanish SME is coordinating a proposal for H2020-ICT-16-2017 call. The aim of the project is to develop an infrastructure to acquire data from different sources and sensors, to process and analyze the data with distributed clouds and edge solutions to develop new big data applications. The developed infrastructure will be offered as a framework for end-user applications. The consortium is looking for an SME or industrial partner that develops big data applications to provide a pilot use case.
Description:
A consortium coordinated by a Spanish SME dedicated to telecommunications and media, is writing a project proposal for H2020-ICT-16-2017 call.

The aim of the project proposal is to research and develop a Content Gathering and Processing Network (CGPN), an infrastructure to acquire data and information from different sources and sensors, to process and analyze the data with distributed clouds and edge solutions to develop new big data applications.

The infrastructure will have a number of attributes that will be able to maintain, manage and control the system in an autonomous way (self-* properties), thus this system will be automatized to be tolerant to faults. The term self-* refers to systems capable of managing themselves, namely as self-* systems, where * stands for a number of properties: self-organisation, self-configuration, self-adaptation, self-diagnose, self-repair, etc.

The project is expected to bring substantial innovative contributions with respect to the following aspects: scaling over heterogeneous and unsafe data sources collected in densely interconnected and decentralized cloud infrastructures, real-time scheduling and processing of heterogeneous data flows, self-* system properties for autonomic behavior, dependability, and interoperability between highly distributed and federated environments.

The developed infrastructure will be offered as a framework for end-user applications in the field of SaaS (Software as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), big data, insurance, space, computer science, agriculture, food security and finance.

The consortium is currently constituted by six partners from different European countries, and they are specialists in the information and communication technologies sector.

The consortium is looking for a SME or industry that develops big data applications (with large user community) to provide a pilot use case on big data to test the technology that will be developed in the project. The applicant shall provide the following information: skills and competences, type of partner, experience in EU Programmes, proposal of pilot use case.

Call Deadline: 25th April 2017.
