Una pyme italiana ha desarrollado un sistema avanzado de monitorización del suelo. Gracias a la instalación de estaciones meteorológicas y detectores, que muestran el régimen hidrométrico en tiempo real del cauce bajo estudio, el sistema crea datos y ofrece al usuario información necesaria sobre la gestión del agua y evaluación de riesgos. La empresa busca investigadores con el fin de presentar una propuesta al Instrumento Pyme (Impulsando el potencial de las pequeñas empresas en las áreas de acción para el clima, medioambiente, eficiencia de recursos y materias primas). La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 3 de mayo de 2017 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 15 de abril.

They look for research collaborations for a H2020 SME Inst "Boosting the potential of small businesses in the areas of climate action, environment, resources".
Description:
The SME (a cooperative company of engineers, social scientists and digital artisans) offers ICT services related to the rural and agrarian world and to the environmental monitoring. It has developed an advanced land monitoring system that includes the acquisition of meteorological, hydraulic and soil information for the purpose of study and alert. Through the installation of meteo stations and a series of detectors, which reveal in real time the hydrometric regime of the watercourse under investigation, this system elaborates data and gives to the user, on his own PC, Smartphone or Tablet, the necessary information for water management and evaluation of potential risk situations.
The system consists of:
- Meteo stations that measure and send data to the web platform where the processing software is located;
- Level sensors to know the hydrometric regime of the watercourse and to carry out water balance studies;
- Cameras for visual supervision of certain potentially dangerous situations.
Each user has the opportunity to access, through a personal account, in a reserved web area where he can check in real time the received data from detectors and he can be notified with a sms/e-mail if any predetermined critical conditions have been reached.
The company is planning to submit a SME instrument project proposal (Phase 1) and they want to start a collaboration with local authorities, associations and municipalities dealing with water management and flood risks. They are also interested in collaborations with Univeristies and research centers.

The advantages of the system are:
- Cost reduction compared to the design, realization and maintenance of structures of protection like new banks and walls;
- Optimization of the resources compared to the use of specific and outdated monitoring systems; a saving tied to the use of last generation, solid and low cost
technologies;
- Qualitative and quantitative use of an integrated, meteorological and hydrometric monitoring system (for the purpose of managing the hydrological risk) guarantees the reduction of false alarms and the optimization of alerts thanks to a bigger spatial and temporal notice.
- Limited environmental impact thanks to the use of little sensors that require a little power source and a wireless communication and transmission network.
