Un instituto de agricultura macedonio está desarrollando un proyecto para la convocatoria H2020-SFS-2015-1 (Seguridad alimentaria sostenible) y busca socios con experiencia en sistemas innovadores de prueba (cultivo electrónico), específicamente en selección de vides con la posibilidad de aplicación en otras especies de plantas. El objetivo es desarrollar una solución innovadora para una selección más segura, rápida, económica y sencilla de tipos superiores de la población de una determinada especie de planta. El sistema permitirá comprobar y determinar la salud actual y el estado de unidades individuales de plantas y mostrará cuáles son las más indicadas para un uso posterior en producción y reproducción. La fecha límite de la convocatoria es el 11 de junio de 2015 y el plazo para presentar expresiones de interés finaliza el 30 de abril.


H2020-SFS-2015-1: Sustainable food security - Looking for partners for project on innovative testing systems Electro - culture
A Macedonian institute of agriculture is developing a project under H2020-SFS-2015-2: Sustainable food security and is looking for project partners experienced in innovative testing systems "Electro-culture", specifically in the selection of grapevines and the opportunity to apply in other plant species.The project aims at an innovative solution for a safer, faster, cheaper and easier way of selection (breeding) of superior individuals of the population of a certain species of plants.
The main objective on this proposed project is by selection of the best individuals of the plants that will be selected represent material that has good genetic predispositions, and they serve as a source or starting material for further propagation and cultivation of this plant species. The advantage of this system will be that it will be made of live individuals, on the spot, not causing harm or death of the plant, but also they continue to live. Also, this system will check and determine the factual (current) health and conditional status of individual units of the plants and will show which ones are better for further use in the production and reproduction.
So far in the selection and genetics, as a main branches in the production of plant food used exhausting trials several years. The choice of parental individuals to crossbreed (hybridization) to obtain progeny and monitoring of received units in the the offspring, lasted several years. In particular, this problem occurs in more annual woody plants (vines, fruit and forest species) where the achievement of maturity and suitability for giving fruits and propagation is needed about 20 years.
Furthermore, with the scientific advances and modernization of technology selection of and genetics, introduced new methods for shortening the time of testing, selection and propagation of individuals. Are used clonal selection and genetic manipulation in order to get precisely planned properties and shorten time to propagation and testing. However, although these methods are shortens the time for obtaining and testing of new units, they are not fully accepted and can lead to unexpected and unforeseen results. In the wider scientific community there is controversy and rejection of some of the methods, especially genetic manipulation, for lack of knowledge and improper forecasting results and effects obtained.
Also, the use of different chemical substances, phytohormones, stimulators, biological reagents, and even some types of radiation, in order to get greater abundance, fecundity and yield (superior plants for selection), it results in a large, harmful consequences for the health and vitality of the plants.
The scientific research will include:
- to have other similar trials in this respect and therefore require the cooperation of those individuals participates or institutions to exchange experiences and knowledge
- Research form institutions that provide temporal and space framework for setting the experiment "electro - culture."
- Research form institutions which will perform validation, verification and protect data of this innovation and conceptual solution.
- Interested institutions or companies that would have materially assisted project for industrial property.
- Research centers and corporations, small and medium sized enterprises in the field of agricultural production, which are interested in investing in innovation.
The EoIs for this project are opened until 30 April 2015, the call deadline is 11.06.2015.
