A German SME has developed a turbo blower which creates atmospheric process air on a constant pressure level, which makes the System suitable for air lubrication systems for vessels. Air lubrication systems, lead to reduced friction of the ships hull in the water and hereby reduce the fuel consumption of naval vessels by 5-10%. As a spin-off of a larger blowers -Y- compressors the SME has developed deep knowledge of turbomachinery and sophisticated projects. The turbo blower is especially designed for applications where atmospheric process air is needed on a constant pressure level. Compared with conventional blowers the turbo blower leads to energy savings, enables a dynamic control of optimal operating points between 15% and 100 % of the power, enables infinite variations of motor speed, increases the performance up to 88 %, produces oil- and particle-free air and is maintenance free.
