Description:
The Greek SME is active in the field of Information and Communication Technologies and specializing in Integrated Internet Applications and Software Development. It has an international presence and is active since 1999.

The SME has developed an energy efficiency solution which comprises a smart system that manages the existing public lighting grid. The solution can be utilized by public (governmental) organizations and local administration organizations such as municipalities and is focused in creating a public lighting management system that is adapted and customized to the specific requirements of each organization.

The system has already been implemented in the greatest Municipality of Attica with excellent Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regarding the saving of energy parameters.

The system operates under Machine to Machine (M2M) protocols and has the potential of further development, and for extended application for management of several grids such as water grids, liquid waste grids, and LPG grids.

The SME is seeking partners that will help it commercialise the technology. The identified modes of cooperation are the following:

- Joint Ventrure. The company is seeking to establish with a strategic partner an entity (most probably a joint company) which will undertake to finalise the development and market the technology to interested parties. The technology through this joint venture will continue to be developed further.

- Licence agreement. The SME is willing to expoit the technology in various ways and to markets that are not in its strategic planning, it wishes to license the technology to enterprises who are willing to bring to the market a new and efficient solution for public lighting.

- Technical cooperation agreement. Given that not all enterprises possess the necessary skill-set and technical know-how to fully undertake the technology, the SME is also willing to provide technical assistance with cooperating enterprises that seek to enhance their commercial activities and portfolio.

- Research Cooperation agreement. The technology although mature can be further be enhanced incorporating for example new technologies and trends (such as Internet-of-Things technologies) and new, more efficient algorithms. To this end it seeks research cooperation with academic and research institutions with common interest for the further development of the technology.

The smart grid solution provides a real-time, two-way flow of energy and information to all stakeholders in the electricity chain, from the generation plant to the commercial, industrial, and residential end-users, enabling utilities to adapt their network capacity to electricity production.

- Immediate tracking of malfunctions and abnormalities
- Monitoring and logging of electrical leaks in the network

- Time savings due to the fact that the available human resources can respond to maintenance and repair needs in a more efficient manner.

The SME is looking for partners who wish to implement this M2M energy savings solution in cities, municipalities or other applications. The commercialisation of the technology can be realised in the following ways:

- Joint venture. The SME is seeking partners to jointly exploit the technology through the creation of a common entity (probably a new spin out company). The new entity will be responsible for the strategic planning, marketing activities and implementation of the technology. The sought partners should be enterprises active in the field of energy efficiency and energy management, technical firms, maintenance companies for the public sector and manufacturers of lighting systems.

- License or Technical cooperation agreement. The desired partner is expected to undertake fully the commercialisation of the technology in various markets. The SME is willing to provide technical assistance and support to entities that do not possess the required skill-set, effectively contributing to capacity building. The sought partners should be enterprises active in the field of energy efficiency and energy management, technical firms, maintenance companies for the public sector and manufacturers of lighting systems.


The SME is also looking for partnerships with research institutions or Universities in order to develop proposals for research that will further enhance the technology. Proposals will seek to incorporate new components such as Internet-of-Things capabilities, new algorithms, etc. Funding will be sought at the most common programmes such as H2020, MED etc, in the field of Energy and Energy savings.
