Ukrainian start-up company offers mobile application to help agronomists to optimize plants grow patterns through the field using computer vision algorithms. It is a small company which consists of 5 experts in a field of software development, agronomy, chemistry, engineering, and law. Main features of the technology are: simultaneous measurement of leaf area and chlorophyll content, mobility and minimal technological requirements for work, GPS tagging of measurement, affordable price and special offers for scientific institutions. Application field(s) are next: agriculture, horticulture, biology, plant physiology, conservation ecology, agrochemistry, aerial imagery in agriculture. The selection of cooperation types was based on the intention to implement technology in agriculture and scientific researches. The desired outcome of this partnership is signing esearch cooperation and technical cooperation agreements with R-Y-D institutions to use technology in their research and get consultations with agriculture experts and scientists to receive feedback about it and its possible improvements. The international cooperation is envisaged such as: using technology in growing and monitoring different crops in different institutions all around the world, cooperation agreements with governmental, scientific and business bodies for promotion of technology using it in their work and, participation in conferences and other events to promote technology and its features to improve agriculture and science.
Advantages and Innovations:
Unlike leaf area meters, ImageJ and other methods, proposed technology measures leaf in a better way - it saves the measurements in the phone and also sends them to the data cloud. Moreover, simultaneously it measures chlorophyll content of a leaf. With mentioned technology it is possible to browse the list of all measurements and see the capture of the leaf area. It works faster than other equipment due to its real-time mode of work. It is lighter than many special equipment and the number of measurements is limited only by phone memory. However, in any other mentioned equipments you will have limits of tenths or hundreds measurement. Unlike expensive leaf area meters our tool is affordable for developing countries and brings two-folded winning, all at once measuring leaf area and chlorophyll content less than in a second".
