The SME is looking for industry partners as well as engineering and chemical companies that want to reduce carbonaceous waste gas emissions. Possible partnerships are research cooperation / license / financial agreement and/or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Description:
Industry will have to pay carbon tax from 2020 onwards. Thus, it is in need of a solution to get rid of carbonaceous waste gases. One possibility is to convert them into usable products.

A Dutch SME has combined a fast growing and robust bacterial chassis and a proprietary metabolic pathway to produce high value isobutene. The market of isobutene is very big, it can be used as a fuel (additive) (Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (ETBE), Methyl-tert-butylether (MTBE), or Isooctane) or a chemical (butyl rubber or methacrolein).

The Dutch company is at the moment the only one making isobutene from waste gases. Competitors are active in fermenting isobutene from sugars. Several finishing industries are interested in using isobutene as a feedstock for the production of chemicals. Even car producers and customers of the steel industry, show a great interest in the technology.

The Dutch SME searches industrial partners and is flexible with regard to business models. The SME is open to discuss different kinds of partnerships to further develop the technology (research cooperation / license agreement or commercial agreement with technical assistance). The company will provide training to companies interested in the latter agreement form. Also investment partners are sought for a financial agreement.
