Spanish research centre dedicated to the research and development of printed electronics is looking for technical and/or research cooperation to prepare project in H2020 and other technical collaborations
A Spanish research centre offers research experience on printed and paper-based electronics. It includes the research and development of printed electronics. They offer competences in functional inks, printing technologies, electronic product development and validation, additives and coating technologies. They look for technical or research cooperation. Commercial agreement with technical assistance is also desired. Specially interested in H2020 topics such as ICT-02-2016 and PILOTS-05-2017.
It is a private entity with more than 800 researchers that brings together technology centres located in Navarra in the fields of: Energy, Industry, Agro-food, and Biomedicine, and it has a clear international objective.
Its goal is to develop technology that can be transferred to industry. It has a team of 75 high qualified people specialised in four technological areas: Electronics, Mechanics, Materials, and Material Deposition Technologies.
This multidisciplinary team is composed of people with varied but complimentary experience, qualifications, and skills, working together to give solution to very different situations.
Furthermore, this interdisciplinary research center offers a wide view of printed electronics, from the starting materials to the end user, including the ink development, the possibility of pilot line testing of the printing technologies and validation of the final product. Moreover, it has a strong industrial network which makes it closer to the needs of the industry.
This centre works with over 350 industrial partners every year, participates in many FP7 and H2020 European consortiums (e.g.: NanoSelect, SusFoFlex, PowGeTec, Seed Capital, Net Market Fluids, EnviGuard...), and in national and regional research projects. Its facilities include: materials testing laboratories, chemical laboratories, nanomaterials handling clean rooms, electronical laboratories, climatic chambers, FE-SEM, printing pilot lines, nanolitography equipment, sensing lab...

This research centre holds some patents granted in Spain.

The potential types of cooperation are the following:

- Commercial agreement with technical assistance for industrial companies/manufacturers working in printed electronics, paper industry, printing sector, electronic product developer, nanomaterials supplier...

- Research cooperation agreement, with universities, research centres and industries too in order to share knowledge and improve the solutions.

- Technical cooperation agreement, with universities, research centres and industries too.
Advantages and Innovations:
1. - FUNCTIONAL INKS. Development of functional inks for inkjet, photogravure, and serigraphy.
Types of inks: conductive, transparent conductive, resistive, weldable, thermocromic...

2. - PRINTING TECHNOLOGIES. Development of new processes and methods for manufacturing and fabrication, using novel printing and deposition technologies from nanoscale to large area and high throughput. Solutions that allow customization and functionalization of the printed electronics. Printing tests for validation of processes and equipment.

4. - ADDITIVES TECHNOLOGY. Use of additives to improve the properties of different substrates to be used in printed electronics (polymeric and cellulosic), providing competitive advantages. Improvement of material´s specifications can be achieved by using different additives, such as nanocelluloses and inorganic additives.

5. - COATINGS TECHNOLOGY. Solutions to improve the surface properties or functionalities of a substrate in order to reduce production and maintenance costs and improve its sustainability and recyclability.

Materials testing and characterization laboratories. Mechanical and physical tests (tensile properties, tear tests, abrasion resistance, thermal properties tests, UV test, aging tests...); surface characterization (optical and electronic spectroscopy, profilometer, contact angle, surface energy...)
