El sistema funciona con una válvula que incluye un tanque de expansión y un obturador esférico o cilíndrico. Se trata de un nuevo concepto de válvula reversible. Se buscan fabricantes y operarios de válvulas con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia y cooperación técnica/investigación, incluyendo desarrollo conjunto y know-how asociado.

A French research center has developed a system to regulate a liquid flow in industrial plants: adjust the pressure loss in a circuit while maintaining the pressurization level to avoid cavitation in pumps. Manufacturers and operators of valves are sought for license agreement, or technical / research cooperation agreement including joined development and associated know-how.
Description:
The innovation developed and patented by the French research center offers a system to regulate a liquid flow in reversible (or not reversible) flow circuit and simultaneously maintain the pressurization level of the circuit to avoid cavitation in pumps. The system works with a valve including an expansion tank and a spherical or cylindrical obtutor.It enables to adjust the pressure loss in a circuit while maintaining sufficient pressure at the inlet of the pump to avoid cavitation of the latter.
Therefore, that innovation provides a new concept of reversible valve including and expansion tank. The main idea of this concept is to provide a continuous link between the fluid circuit and the expansion tank (with a lot of components) in order to limit the pressure drop below a level of pump cavitation and this regardless of the direction of flow liquid in the circuit.
- In open valve position, the opening section of obturator is the same as the flow circuit. A groove and a communication orifice (fabricated directly in the obturator) ensures continuous link between circuit and expansion tank. Thus the pressure drop is the same as the portion of the pipe of the same length. There is no risk of pump cavitation.
- In close valve position, the obturator does not let liquid flow in the circuit. Nevertheless, there is still a link between the valve and expansion tank. This new concept limits the system to one control action on the valve opening without question of isolation management of one or more expansion tanks.

This innovation may be used with any kind of liquids (e.g. water, charged liquid, metal liquid, milk, petrol...) with an operating temperature of liquid which may exceed 350°C. This can be installed in industrial infrastructures dealing with liquid flow such as: desalinisation plant, water or wastewater treatment plant, chemical plant, nuclear power plant...
