Description:
The offered technology is designed to increase the wireless signals for voice and data. It provides for the best coverage and solution for dense and competitive areas as well as reduction in the amount of antennas needed for coverage. It increases the strength for better coverage while reducing the total infrastructure cost. Future upgrades to the system are not necessary as the system is ready for all-in-one convergence.
Active DAS solutions use optical fibers to extend signals through a network of antennas placed throughout the building. As optical fibers are used, optical components are needed to convert RF signals to light pulses for transmission on optical fiber. Usually the direct modulation of lasers is used to convert the RF signal from electrical to optical domain. Photodetector converts the optical signal back to the RF-domain, electrical components amplify the signals to RF for radiation by the antennas. Fibre optic cabling overcomes the transmission losses that occur to coax-based systems and therefore becomes a preferred solution in very large buildings. The important electrical components in an active DAS are central and remote units. Other components in the active DAS include repeaters that provide an RF feed source and the indoor antennas. Active DAS is fed from a repeater or a base station (BTS), and the signal is then distributed inside the building over fiber cable with remote units (RU) and antennas converting the optical signal back to wireless, and transmitting the signals at the locations needed.
The offered products are intended for in-building and outdoor mobile coverage. Multiplexing the various mobile services and transmitting them over a single optical path considerably reduces the number of in-building antennas, interference, costs and simplifies installation.
