Description:
A Swedish cleantech SME, active within many diverse market segments such as shipping, pharmacy and rock drilling, has developed a safe and highly efficient, filter based, back-flushable dust collector for hazardous dust, for example asbestos and silica dust.
An outer collector cyclone body has an internal filter media inside an integrated filter chamber. The dusty gas first enters an outer inlet, whereby the major part of the dust swirls down towards an outer dust chamber. The now partially cleaned gas enters the integrated filter media through one or several inlets. The filter body is contaminated with dust particles, while an outlet chamber represents the clean side of the filter unit. The contaminated part of the filter unit can be separated from the clean part by releasing a V-clamp coupling unit. The invention is particularly useful where the dust load is heavy, for example in rock-drilling and concrete machining.
The SME is looking for partners in the industrial sector, for a commercial agreement with technical assistance, meaning acquisition of the patent, or a license agreement.
Advantages and Innovations:
Some major disadvantages with existing dust collecting technology, in a situation with a heavy dust load, are that:
· The end-filter unit needs to be protected from being clogged by an effective pre-separator.
· The handling of the collected dust, and in the end the handling of the contaminated filter media, exposes the persons involved for very dangerous dust.

The present invention solves this by integrating a filter unit chamber inside a collecting cyclone, in such a way that most of the collected dust never reaches the end-filter media. Also, by this arrangement the dust collected in both steps is disposed into the same plastic bag, which can be sealed and removed in a safe way. The contaminated part of the dust collector, inclusive the filter media, can easily be removed, cleaned and exchanged in a safe way, without the operators getting into any contact with the hazardous dust. In order to provide a strong vacuum force over time, the filter chamber is equipped with a powerful back flush filter cleaning system.
