La aplicación del complejo puede reducir considerablemente el uso de medicamentos. El objetivo es desarrollar un módulo láser para cirugía, un módulo láser para terapia fotodinámica (diodos láser basados en nanoheteroestructuras), sistema de imágenes de reacciones fotoquímicas, sistema de registro de radiación óptica y software especial para implementación de diagnósticos en tiempo real durante la terapia fotodinámica y el tratamiento quirúrgico, evitando la sobredosis y efectos secundarios. Description:
Currently, for treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases, antibiotics and synthetic chemotherapies are widely applied. However, long-term using of antibiotics can lead to allergic reactions, disbacteriosis, developing resistant strains of microflora, thus increasing the occurance of gingivitis and periodontitis. Therefore, among the new non-drug therapies, there is a great interest in photodynamic therapy, which can make periodontal treatment safe and successful both for the doctor and the patient.
An innovative Russian company developed a technology for producing a laser complex for diagnostics and treatment of major diseases of the oral cavity and parodentium by laser coagulation and photodynamic therapy, using Russian photosensitizers based on the extract of active chlorophyll. Presently, the prototypes are manufactured and laboratory tests have been carried out. The company plans to create a set of equipment, including a laser module for surgery, laser module of photodynamic therapy (diode lasers based on nanoheterostructures), imaging system of photochemical reaction, system of registration of optical radiation, transmitted through the dentin for diagnose cavities and special software for implementation of real-time diagnostics in the course of photodynamic therapy and surgical treatment, thus avoiding overdose and side effects. Application of the complex involves using non-toxic chemicals of plant origin.
At the moment, the global market has no analogues of such a complex. The partners sought are companies producing medical equipment. The company offers commercial agreements with technical assistance or acquisition of technological know-how.
Advantages and Innovations:
The main advantage of therapeutic and diagnostic complex is the special software for implementation of the real-time diagnostics in the course of photodynamic therapy and surgical treatment.
The novelty of the proposed technology is in significant difference from conventional methods of application of laser radiation sources in photodynamic therapy and surgery in endodontics:
1). Use of non-toxic chemicals of plant origin (there is no analogues of such chemicals on the world market).
2). For photodynamic therapy, a laser emitter with the wavelength 400-410 nm is applied.
3). A feedback system based on fluorescence diagnostics will accurately calculate the dose of laser radiation and reduce the duration of the procedure . With this system, the concentration of the photosensitizer in the patient will always be maintained at an optimal level, avoiding overdose and side effects.
4). This system is also able to increase the effectiveness of the dentist examination.
