La tecnología se basa en los resultados de investigación farmacéutica de nuevos derivados de curcumina y su capacidad para formar complejos metálicos. La tecnología se utiliza en medicina, especialmente en el tratamiento del cáncer, y ha demostrado su eficacia contra el cáncer cervical. La universidad busca compañías farmacéuticas o especializadas en quimioterapia con el fin de establecer acuerdos de fabricación, financiación, cooperación técnica o licencia.

Researchers from a Slovak university have developed new compounds that have proven effects on the inhibition of human tumor cells. The technology is based on the results of pharmaceutical research of new derivatives of curcumin and their ability to form metal complexes. The university seeks pharmaceutical or chemotherapeutic companies for manufacturing, financial, technical cooperation or licensing agreements.
Description:
Palladium complexes of curcumin and its analogues developed at established Slovak university are brand new compounds with proven effect against tumor cells, even types resistant to the conventional medications based on metal complexes. They can be used for the production of new type of chemotherapeutic for the treatment of several types of cancer cells, such as melanoma, carcinomas of the cervix, liver and morer.
The innovative technology is applicable in human medicine, specifically in the therapy of cancer. Developed compounds based on palladium complexes of curcumin can be used for the production of new chemotherapeutics with proven effects on inhibition of human tumor cells. Significantly higher efficiancy in comparison to currently used chemotherapeutics has been detected during in vitro tests on cervical carcinoma, which is the third most diagnosed type of cancer for women.
