The company is looking for dairy equipment manufacturers or engineering companies for potential technical cooperation, licensing or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Description:
Dealing with small quantities of milk is often quite challenging for the farmers. Logistics including handling the travel distance to the dairy, irregular supply, different quantities and types of milk are just some of the daily concerns of the small and medium-sized farmers. One potential solution for addressing these challenges is the introduction of the small-dairy concept. Nevertheless, there are only few solutions on the market and their potential is yet to be dully utilised.
The Macedonian company specialised in engineering of processing equipment has developed a novel system for small-dairy capable of processing any type of milk and producing different types of both hard and soft cheeses. The central part of the processing line is a compact machine that can be easily transported. The machine is fully automatic with predefined processes and controlled through user-friendly computerized system. In this way the farmer does not need to have particular technical skills related to the food processing or automatic process control. As the machine provides proper pasteurisation, the products are safe for consuming regardless of their maturity stage.
The machine is designed to process 250 litters of milk and incorporates the following functions:
- Lacto-freezer
- Pasteurization
- Dosage and mixing
- Curding
- Cheese cutting
- Second heating of curded mass
The processing time is 5 hours whereas the energy consumption is around 4kWh per process e.g. processing cow milk into white cheese. During the process the machine does not require fresh cold water for milk cooling between the pasteurisation and curding. Instead technical water is used continuously without discharge through the use of heat recuperation. The dimensions of the machine are 2.1m X 1.25m X 1.8m and its total weight is only 350kg. With these characteristics, the machine is ideal for any decentralised production and processing of small quantities of milk particularly in rural or distant areas.
The company faces exploitation limitations due to the small country size and proximity of the farms to the large dairies. Thus, there is an evident need for accessing new markets where the full potential of the proposed solution can be utilised. The company is ready to license out or sale the innovative design to foreign equipment manufacturers or engineering companies. The prospective partners will benefit from introducing the concept into their existing product or service portfolio and financial gains from its potential sales. The Macedonian company will provide technical support during the whole process. Alternatively, both parties may explore possibilities for upgrading or adapting the solution to new processes under the terms of technical cooperation agreement.
