A French SME providing services to the industry has developed innovative expertise and methods to optimize industrial processes in the fields of food, biomass and algae processing.
This technology includes:
- A fully developed and proven method to optimize the sampling and characterization of natural heterogeneous materials (biomass, waste...), so as to minimize the sampling error and improve measurement accuracy when analysing material composition, size distribution, moisture content, specific surface...

- An expertise in the design and optimization of microalgae production systems, thanks to a generic photobioreactor mathematical model that enables predictions on power consumption and productivity of a given system as a function of geographical location, reactor design, day of the year, climatic conditions...

- A software application providing coherent material balances at the scale of a whole plant;

- A process simulation software enabling the optimization of the industrial processes from the unit operation right to the complete plant. Hundreds of operations implemented in physicochemical treatment (notably size reduction, solvent extraction, precipitation, filtration, drying, ultrafiltration, industrial composting, reactive extrusion...) can be simulated. This simulation package assists process engineers in design, audit, optimization and increase of capacity.

The simulation software is continuously enriched by new mathematical models. This technology results from a technological transfer from mineral processing, and is thus particularly powerful when processing solid, heterogeneous, poorly characterized materials with complex structure, as biomass-derived materials. However, liquid and gas material flows can be treated as well, and chemical reaction can be taken into account. Other process simulators based on thermodynamics already on the market may be seen more as complementary tools than as competitors to the approach proposed here.

This technology is available for demonstration, and partners for technical cooperation or commercial agreement with technical assistance are sought.
In order to be able to work with the company on technical cooperation or on commercial agreement with technical assistance, potential partners should accept to deliver the technical data required to analyze and optimize industrial processes.

The company is also interested in joining research teams to work on research cooperation agreement (in H2020 project for example)
