Summary:
A recognized Spanish research group makes available to the civil works sector (construction companies, quality control companies, research centers, public administrations, etc.) and industry, a technology based on the combination of laser technology and artificial vision for the monitoring of movements in structures.
The partnerships sought are: commercial agreement with technical assistance and license or manufacturing agreement. The desirable partners could be private or public entities.
Description:
The Spanish research group has a wide experience in structural health monitoring and instrumentation of civil engineering structures and belongs to a medium-sized Spanish university founded in 1994, housing others 76 research groups more. The university has been very active in several European reseach and innovation programmes (H2020 and previous FPs, LIFE, Justice, ERASMUS+, Interreg, COST, LLP, IEE, Research Fund for Coal and Steel, D. G. for Competition Policy and Strategy, Science for Peace and Security Programme-OTAN...) with over 50 European projects; with the role of coordinator in 22 projects and over 8.4 M-Y-euro; overall EU funding received. Currently, this university participates in 26 on-going projects (in 12 of them as coordinator) in 8 different EU programmes with an average of 1.7 M-Y-euro; of EU funding in the last 4 years.

Nowadays, how to measure, accurately and economically, the movements experienced by a large construction structure and industrial structure, is an inconvenience and a technological challenge. The proposed solution by the Spanish research group, which is more efficient and less costly than the currently available, allows obtaining very useful information on the state of structures, in order to be able to design structural maintenance tasks more efficiently and thus avoid catastrophic damage to them.

The technology developed by the research group of the Spanish university is able to monitoring movements in large structures, such as bridges for road and / or rail traffic, among others. This technology is essential to know the status of a large structure and defines, in a more efficient and economical way, the maintenance actions to be carried out to preserve the maximum levels of safety by structural aging processes with optimal resource consumption.

Potential applications of the motion detection systems are as follow:
- Large-scale civil works structures, such as bridges for road and / or rail traffic.
- Industrial structures.

The researcher group is interested in international cooperation under commercial agreement with technical assistance, license agreement and/or manufacturing agreement, with private companies or government administrations.

In addition, the research group offers tests of new applications and/or adaptation to specific needs and the possibility of further development.
Advantages and Innovations:
The main innovations and advantages of the motion detection systems are:
· Continuous monitoring of movements over time.
· High precision of displacement measurement.
· Low cost of production and installation.
· Sensors located so that the environmental and lighting conditions are favorable.
· Quick data analysis.
