This North West UK based SME has expertise in developing cutting edge tracking and monitoring devices. They have recently developed a CO2 monitoring device to notify operators about the illegal presence of intruders in containers or other carriers (vehicles).

The company is looking to work with tracking and monitoring device manufacturers via licensing agreements and with global distribution and freight management service providers via commercial agreement with technical assistance.
The UK company was established in 2013 and specialises in the research and development of a monitoring and tracking device to help notify drivers and storage owners when they have possible stowaways or offenders in their containers. Prototypes have been manufactured in China and assembled in the UK.

With border control issuing fines of over £2000 per stowaway, companies and drivers are taking more precautions when transporting goods across borders. With thousands of immigrants trying to enter the UK, rigorous checks the UK and France have caused huge delays. It costs on average £700,000 a day to activate and control ´operation stack´ in Kent which was recently used to control queues caused by changes to border control rules. Additionally, over £10m worth of fresh food is disposed of each year due to stowaways contaminating the containers.

The product has new patented technology for alerting the presence of people in an enclosed space by monitoring CO2 levels. The operator will receive a text, email and notification on an online portal to notify that a possible stowaway or intruder has managed to get into their protected space. This allows the operator to report the problem from a safe and secure location.
With an Ingress Protection Rating of 54 the device is suitable for most conditions. Through the online portal the operator can see the device´s history, state of motion and previous journeys.

The defining feature of this device is that it can be placed in a container and left. Other CO2 devices on the market cost thousands and are all handheld devices which use probes.

Although the device is aimed at the transport industry it can be used in the following sectors:

· Closed containers to deter thieves when machinery/products are left somewhere with no security
· Empty premises
· Greenhouses to measure the levels of CO2 the plants are producing
