Una universidad letona ha desarrollado un dispositivo para la industria mecánica que mide y registra la intensidad del caudal de agua. Este dispositivo ofrece diversas ventajas; 1) indicador de valores y proceso de registro de datos automáticos, 2) diseño simplificado, 3) mayor seguridad (el sensor está formado por dos diodos de radiación infrarroja) y 4) amplio abanico de funcionalidades (el registrador de datos tiene un número de canales para grabar diferentes parámetros, como temperatura). La universidad busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica.

A university from Latvia has invented a device for the mechanical industry that relates to a heating process parameter measurement and control. The device is intended for various fluids, such as water, flow intensity measuring and recording in the pipeline, which is equipped with a water meter. University is offering commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Description:
University from Latvia, involved in science of agriculture has invented the device that measures and registers water flow intensity. Such device is needed, for example to determine experimentally solar collectors´ power as a function of time when it´s necessary to record the heat carrier (water) flow rate intensity in collectors´ absorber; collectors´ absorber incoming and outgoing heat temperatures.
Similar device for heat carrier (water) flow intensity in the collector absorber can be determined using a hot water meter. The shortage of such measuring-recording equipment is that data recording is not fully automated; the data recording time and temperatures of the water meter before and after data recording should be accounted manually.
The aim of proposed invention is to prevent the above-mentioned disadvantages, that is, to automate data measurement and recording process and raise the output data accuracy and reliability.
University is offering commercial agreement with technical assistance in order to provide the device to interested parties.

Advantages of the proposed device compared to similar flow intensity metering devices:
- automated value indicator and data registration process;
- simplified design of the device;
- increased security of the device (device sensor is formed from two same type infrared radiation emitting diodes);
- extended device functionality (data recorder has a number of channels which can be used for various parameter registration (such as temperature)).
