Una universidad checa ha desarrollado un dispositivo para eliminar sulfuro de hidrógeno y azufre en forma de sulfuro en aguas subterráneas. Este dispositivo se ha diseñado para caudales de agua normales en viviendas y pequeñas y medianas empresas. La eliminación de contaminantes se basa en un proceso de membrana. Los contaminantes atraviesan el agua por los poros de una membrana de fibras huecas, son liberados al aire y finalmente extraídos del dispositivo. El equipo incluye una bomba de vacío. La universidad busca socios industriales con el fin de fabricar y distribuir el dispositivo y establecer acuerdos de licencia o cooperación en materia de investigación.

Summary:
A Czech university developed device capable for removing hydrogen sulphide and sulphide sulphur from groundwater. The device is designed for normal water flow in households and small and medium businesses. The university is looking for industrial partners able to produce and distribute the device. The university is offering license or research cooperation agreements.
Description:
Developed device is able to remove hydrogen sulphide and sulphide sulphur from groundwater. Hydrogen sulphide and sulphide sulphur occur mainly in groundwater with deep circulation which at one point came into anaerobic conditions. The removal of contaminants is based on membrane process, where contaminants pass from water through pores of hollow fibers membrane, and then are released into the air and led outside of the device. Depending on the location of the device, the contaminants are released directly into the air or are lead from house area to outside air.
The device in the form of a construction kit is designed in several basic modules for a variety of practical uses depending on the desired maximum flow rate and efficiency. The equipment includes a vacuum pump.
The device is capable of reducing the concentration of contaminants in the water to a level that meets the odor index. The device is designed for normal water flow in households, i.e. approx. 0,2 l.s-1. The spatial requirements enable to install the device in the facility area of the house.
The university is looking for industrial and business partners among small and medium companies interested in production and distribution of the device. University offers license and research cooperation agreement and is ready to work together with interested partners on exploratory research or only to transfer the rights for use of device.
Advantages and Innovations:
The modular nature of the device allows the user to adapt it to the desired maximum flow rate and efficiency. The efficiency of the decontamination process is increased due to the innovative design of the contactor head.
This device reduces energy consumption, space demands, price of the final device and operating costs.
The main benefit for potential users is improvement in organoleptic properties of water as well as possibility to connect the device to a household water system without losing pressure (case of aeration technologies).

The contactor head as a part of the device is protected as utility model (reg. no. 27914) by the Czech Industrial Property Office.

Partner sought

Type and Role of Partner Sought:
The sought partner should be SME from industrial sector.
License agreement is offered to a company, which is able to produce the final product and distribute it to the final customer. Czech SME will only take a fee for selling the license, new licensee can handle the product and the rights freely and without other restrictions.

Partnership via research cooperation agreement is imagined in form of other University or a research centre, that will cooperate on the project, develop the product and finalize it for sale on the market. SME will get the agreement as a 50/50 research partner and the income will be splited according the share which will be discussed.
