A Czech university has developed a measuring device to evaluate quality of the pork and beef meat. It is a small and portable measuring device for measuring the bio-impedance of the meat in order to determine water content of the meat. The Czech university is looking for electronic measuring equipment manufacturers interested in license agreement.

Description:
A bio-impedance measurement (as well bioelectrical impedance analysis) is commonly used method for the determination of body composition. It is measurement method to calculate total body water (TBW) and body fat. This method is also used in the meat processing industry to determine water content of the meat. If the pork or beef meat contains a lot of water, the meat can be difficult to process. Bio-impedance measuring devices used in the meat processing industry are heavy and standalone devices evaluating only samples of meat.

The Czech university has developed a small and portable measuring device for easy and quick measurement of the bio-impedance of the pork or beef meat. The measuring device is based on Fourier analysis with quadrature detection. It provides automatic measurement of the bio-impedance with saving its value in each frequency step. Frequency range of measuring device is 1 kHz - 50 kHz with the frequency step 1 kHz.

The university is looking for electronic measuring equipment manufacturers. Partner sought should be interested in manufacturing (including CE certification) of offered measuring device under license agreement and delivering measuring device to the market. Specification of license agreement (licensing fees, etc.) will be negotiated.
Advantages and Innovations:
Unique technology of measurement of the bio-impedance for meat processing industry. Similar measuring devices are used only in medicine.

In comparison with existing solutions used in meat processing industry offered technology is smaller, portable and easier to use because it enables to measure bio-impedance of the whole piece of meat.
