Pull-off apparatus - a device measuring pull-off strength in the branch of surface working
Summary:
A small Czech company has developed apparatus that can measure very small differences of pull-off strength. The device is used for inspection of the quality of surface materials - determinates both their solidity and their quality. The device enables to find out defects of the material before serious damages incur. Final users of this apparatus are sought from industry to use the apparatus based on commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Description:
Pull-off test shows the real adhesion of 2 or more layers and also shows the quality of the base before a final surface working process.
The device is able to measure efficiency of the fastening of the thermal insulation layer on the brickwork. Another possible test is a test of quality of fastening of a steel anchor in the contrete groundwork.
The device is able to measure either a tensile strength at a right angle to the surface that pull-off both layers or a power necessary for breaking of a certain part of the system including a base defined by the hole. The test can therefore determine those properties of the system in depth given by the hole made in advance.
Final users of this apparatus are sought from industry to apply the apparatus based on commercial agreement with technical assistance. The technical assistance will be essential for customers who have no experience with the usage of such device.
Advantages and Innovations:
Products have mostly protective or aesthetic surface treatments. When the upper layer is damaged it can cause costs for repair or problems. Pull-off test can prevent the producer or user from these problems. There are only 5 producers of such device all over the world, but only 2 in Europe. Significant advantage will be the price in this case. This apparatus is used for measuring at a right angle to the surface and the advantage is also a punctuality of the device. The device can control the quality of surface and the surface working. A mutual adhesion of applied layers can be determined. Technical assistance for new users (explanaition and training) will be applied in the framework of the commercial agreement.
