Description:
Some industries, including nuclear power, impose strict requirements on the quality of surfaces of pipes they use. The existing finishing treatment techniques for pipes made from stainless steels are both power-consuming and resource-consuming, since they use hazardous organic solvents.
The technology developers offer an electrochemical degreasing technique in orthophosphoric acid solutions of weak concentrations. In the course of cathode-anode polarization of a product under treatment, due to a considerable polarization resistance, hydrogen and oxygen effervescence occurs over the entire surface. While detaching, the bubbles carry the lubricant away, thus cleaning the surface Simultaneously, unsolvable lubricant oxidation products are formed that precipitate and finest metallic and nonmetallic particles are removed from the product surface. After this treatment, the surface of metallic product becomes completely free of process lubricants, with no residual impurities left. During the treatment, the product is passed through a toroidal chamber fitted with an outlet nozzle; in the chamber, a rotating flow of a cleaning liquid is arranged, and flow turbulence is formed due to annular grooves on the internal surface of the nozzle. In order to remove technological lubricants from both internal and external surfaces of pipes (when greasing is heavy and exceeds 100 mg/m2, etc.) and to enhance the cleaning, electrochemical cleaning may be combined with vortex-jet treatment. The technology can also be utilized to clean microtapes and microwires.
The company has successfully implemented the technology at a number of industrial enterprises in Russia.
Advantages and Innovations:
Unlike existing methods, the offered technique, in addition to effects like cavitation, utilizes the treatment by a gas-liquid jet counterflow with an all-around access of the treatment medium to a cylindrical body surface. The gas-liquid jet has no dangerous, environmentally unfriendly gas mixtures (e.g., hydrogen chloride, ammonia, etc). The technology, as compared to analogs, reduces wash water consumption in 5 to 10 times, reduces electric power consumption in 2÷3 times, increases the product yield, and enhances the surface cleaning.
