Description:
The sun offers the most abundant, reliable and pollution-free power in the world. However, problems with solar energy, namely the expensive cost and inconsistent availability, have prevented it from becoming a more utilized energy source.

Concentrated photovoltaic cell(CPV) technology has been proposed as an alternative to the demand for inexpensive and highly efficient solar cells for solving such challenges. The photovoltaic cell is more than twice as effective as existing silicon solar cell in converting photovoltaic to electricity, and the use of a lens or mirror furtherly increases the power conversion efficiency.

By using small solar cells and inexpensive optical instruments (mirror or Fresnel lens) to concentrate the light to one point, the performance of the solar cell can be increased up to 40% or more. Thus, it is the most efficient technology to achieve grid parity in terms of price as less semiconductor material to capture a given amount of sunlight is required for CPV. Therefore, developing a technology of CPV module packaging plays an important role not only in terms of environment but also in cheap electricity production.

These concentrated power generation technologies are developed with low cost lenses or reflective mirrors for ¿-¿ solar cell, and they must always be focused by using a precise solar tracker.
Although the highly concentrated power generation technology is a practical method of saving the material cost and increasing the power generation efficiency, it is disadvantageous in that it cannot use almost half of the sunlight as only direct sunlight is available for conversion. To propose a solution to such a challenge, the Korean company has developed a technology that combines the concentrated and non-concentrated methods of improving the overall power generation efficiency by capturing the wasted diffuse sunlight as radiant heat.

CPV + PV modules are designed to maintain the highest performance and durability at a very competitive cost. Each module has 36 triple-junctioned high efficient power elements and is designed to accommodate the solar light of incident angle of +-7 through the optical system. It maintains the best light transmittances and long-term durability by using a PC-plane lens and is designed to keep the device at the proper temperature by adding a heat sink.The high-efficiency hybrid technology enables a realization of more economic integrated power generation system.
