The Finnish company established in 2016 has developed a revolutionary biomass fractionation technology to convert biomass into its three main constituents. The company uses no sulphur in the process, which keeps the fractions (dissolving pulp, polymeric hemicellulose and sulphur-free lignin) very pure, reactive, and close to their natural form. Technology is scalable and economically viable also in smaller scale.

The technology of the company is founded on a deep understanding of fundamental biomass chemistry. First findings of the innovation were made in 2011, by experienced wood chemistry professionals. Broad academic and industrial collaboration and networking have enabled the company to create state-of-the-art technologies where ingenious chemistry is combined with innovative reactor design and processing. The headquarters and R-Y-D of the company are located in Finland. The company has already conducted intensive evaluation for the bio-based materials, together with the industry and academic partners.

The company is currently launching their innovation to market, and is looking for partners for commercial agreement with technical assistance and for research cooperation agreement to replace oil and food based raw materials in their current products. Advantages and Innovations:
Based on material evaluations this far, the company is convinced that their cost-competitive, high quality and 100% bio-based fractions can replace oil and food based raw materials in multiple applications.

The innovation is a breakthrough in biorefinery industry, and no other technology can extract all three fractions in the same process. Furthermore, no other fractionation technology can produce polymeric hemicellulose.

The process uses no sulphur, and it extracts the fractions gently in high quality, and close to their natural form. Fractions may also provide additional benefits in terms of materials properties and performance to e.g. medical applications. The fractionation process can utilise a wide variety of feedstock, both wood such as spruce and pine, but also non-wood such as straw and bagasse.

The company prefers partners, who already have a clear business strategy and goals in replacing oil and food based materials in their products.
