Description:
The French company is a young Start-Up dedicated to the design of location optical systems.

Its offer consists in a family of location solutions for drones robots, smartphones, etc. in environments that do not have location, such as GPS, or because these services are not available, either because they are insufficiently reliable or because they do not offer the required performance. This is the case for indoor spaces, or where there is a proximity to bridges, factories, etc.

The optical technology is based on the implementation of a single camera on the mobile part, drone, robot, Smartphone, etc., and a single optronic pattern on the fixed or infrastructure part. Thanks to the optical properties implemented in this configuration, the technology allows the camera of the mobile part to be located in 6D (position and attitude) with respect to the optronic beacon.

The location requirements are those which concern activities of inspection, maintenance, surveillance, measurements, acquisition of 3D models, landing and automatic take-off, location of equipment, people, location based services, etc.
The company has developed a range of real-time solutions for localization in 6D (position x, y, z and attitude with the 3 angles of Euler: Lace, roll and pitch) using a camera embedded, the location being in relation to a single optronic beacon (2 patents).

The system offers the precise location of a drone or a robot thanks to its on-board camera and the use of an optronic beacon ultra-easy to deploy.
Precise location means centimetric in position and less than half a degree in attitude, for a few tens of meters; The accuracy depending on the configuration of the test pattern or test patterns and, depending on the need, it can be improved or decreased.

The SME is looking for partners able to finalize the development of the technology, to produce it and to commercialize it. The partners sought should ideally come from the drones industry. The company is interested in technical cooperation agreement or in commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Advantages and Innovations:
There is no technology like this capable of performing this type of functions with the implementation of a technical configuration space-saving, unlike technologies like Ultra Wide Band (UWB) which require a lot of infrastructure.
Innovation is the ability to produce a precise location with a single camera for the embedded part, and a single optronic beacon for the location reference; These two elements suffice to allow a 6D location (position (3D) and attitude (3D: yaw rolling pitch)) in real time.

Many benefits from this technology consist in a single optronic beacon to obtain a real-time 6D location with a single camera, compared to other technologies where a minimum of 3 beacons is required to produce a simple 2D or 3D localization.

No parasitic signal processing as in the case of wireless technologies.
An optronic beacon has an encoding and the software recognizes it in real time, which provides an unambiguous identification. This markup is sufficient for itself to define a cartography, no other element is to be memorized. If necessary, it is possible to link this markup to a site or terrestrial mapping.
