It is designed to remotely, directly and securely collect, and safely store, a patient´s complete medical file. A commercial agreement with technical assistance is sought with health providers.
Description:
A Greek company - founded in 1997 with high-level expertise in advanced IT solutions and cutting-edge technologies in the health services sector - has introduced an innovative secure portable personal health record (PHR) in the form of a USB card/mobile application.
The novel device was developed to address the challenges of electronic medical systems´ interconnectivity and interoperability and the resulting fragmentation of personal medical information, by facilitating the collection of all information together at one reference point, to ultimately grant the individual (and anyone the individual wishes to authorize) access to their complete updated medical records at any given moment (24/7) from any given location globally, while ensuring information privacy and security. In this sense, the novel device has been developed to be fully compliant with the new European Union general data protection regulation (EU GDRP).

Alternatively, the portable PHR can also be used as an individual refugee ID card that can facilitate the management, planning and tracking of the humanitarian aid that is offered and delivered.
The novel device´s card contains an encrypted database. It also contains software specifically designed to access this database, to ´read´ encoded health data via a fully customizable interface, to further facilitate a fast, selective review of the patient´s medical history in order to support the diagnostic process, and provide a ´patient summary´ in a user-friendly format. Each card presents a unique serial number and primary key which allows the card to be remotely and securely identified by different servers and ensures compatibility with different software worldwide. The card is plug-and-play, with no specific software requirements and no restrictions/prerequisites in regards to operational systems.
The only requirements for data review are a computer and a browser. In order to update the data contained in the portable PHR, a wi-fi connection is the only additional requirement to the above. In order to further ensure the validity and security of data, an online platform that manages every step the process has been developed which also archives the full history of the device´s cards.
Data input is restricted; no manual data entry can be performed by anyone (or for any reason) other than by the health provider, thus ensuring the validity of the data and the reliability of the information. The process demands that health providers transmit data from their in-house medical software to the novel device´s card, achieving:
(a) data structure standardization (per event);
(b) data encoding standardization;
(c) data origin identification (by the health provider) and further identification of the person who actually generated and recorded the data (via the use of an electronic signature), thus ensuring and enhancing accountability.

The Greek company wishes to establish a commercial agreement with technical assistance for a long-term collaboration with companies, public and governmental organizations as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the health provision sector that will use the offered technology as their patient information management system.
