Una empresa turca ha desarrollado un método para generar un hidrogel polimérico que se emplea en liberación de fármacos. El objetivo de la tecnología es ofrecer un método de producción de hidrogeles poliméricos que permitan la liberación controlada de diversos fármacos en diferentes períodos de tiempo. Otro objetivo es ofrecer un método de producción en el que se empleen monómeros, como N-isopropilacrilamida (nipam), acrilamida, ácido maleico y N,N´-metilenebisacrilamida, y con propiedades de aumento de volumen y estabilidad térmica y mecánica que sean mejoradas añadiendo arcilla. La empresa busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia y cooperación técnica.

Description:
A Turkish company developed a method. The present invention relates to a production method, which enables to obtain composite polymeric hydrogels used for coltrolled drug release in biomedical field by means of their improved water-swelling property, comprising the steps of prepearing the monomer mixture, dissolving the mixture in distilled water, adding initiator and accelerator to the solution, shaping the hydrogels formed upon allowing the polymeric material produced as a result of the reaction to rest, washing and drying the polymeric hydrogels.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polymeric hydrogel production method which makes possible release of many drugs in different periods of time.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a polymeric hydrogel production method in which monomers such as N-isopropylacrylamide (nipam), acrylamide, maleic acid and N,N´-methylenebisacrylamide are used.

A further objective of the present invention is to provide a composite polymeric hydrogel production method whose swelling property, thermal and mechanical stability are improved by means of clay addition.
Today various diseases threatening human health can be treated via controlled drug release techniques. In this direction, different active ingredients are developed for treatment of different diseases, and different polymeric structures are developed to release these active ingredients. Swelling capacity and mechanical stability of hydrogels are still under development.

The hydrogel is synthesized specifically for the release of Clarithromycin and other cancer drugs. 1 gr. the polymer can adsorb around 3.5 hours.


All rights related to this recently developed invention have been put under protection of a patent.
