Un instituto de investigación español del sector de energía sostenible ha desarrollado un nuevo enfoque holístico para modelado de la demanda, gestión de energía y suministro óptimo para entornos inteligentes (edificios, comunidades de vecinos, bloques, etc.). Entre sus ventajas cabe destacar el uso de técnicas avanzadas de modelado de la demanda de energía para los sectores de la construcción y residencial, optimización de los recursos energéticos locales para aumentar la eficiencia energética, algoritmos proactivos en tiempo real para gestión energética de edificios y casas inteligentes, etc. Se buscan empresas interesadas en servicios de evaluación y gestión de energía con el fin de establecer acuerdos de servicio y cooperación en materia de investigación para participar en proyectos europeos.

The institute is seeking companies interested in energy assessment and management services for service agreeement, and also is open for research cooperation agreements for participation in European projects.
Description:
"Smart Buildings" term normally refers to various control techniques used for integration of renewable energy sources to buildings, energy efficiency improvement, reduction of greenhouse emissions and application of demand side management. In addition to a single building, new terms such as "Smart Neighbourhoods" and "Smart Blocks of Buildings" have been recently introduced and refer to integrated management of energy generation, storage and demand on a district or neighbourhood level.
Such mixed design is encouraged by recent advances in energy technologies and also by the fact that the end-use energy demand in buildings is not homogeneous and comprises thermal and electrical loads.
However, many results of the existing studies on incorporation of renewable energy technologies into buildings reveal a lack of a holistic approach to investigation and optimisation of small energy supply systems. The two main drawbacks are the absence of detailed analyses of end-use energy demand and the use of pre-defined energy system structure during the initial phases of building design.
The Spanish research institute working in the field of sustainable energy has developed novel holistic approach to demand modelling, energy management and optimal supply mix for smart environments (buildings, neighbourhoods, blocks....). By using all the available information on the building energy usage to improve the demand forecast, the building energy management is improved and optimised.
