This offer consists in assessing the vulnerability of electronic devices and systems and proposing hardening solutions :
- at system level for a prime contractor,
- at equipment or sub-system level for an equipment manufacturer.

Study the vulnerability with respect to radiation and harsh ElectroMagnetic environments for the following applications :
- space systems and equipment (satellites,...),
- functional/electronic systems used in civil nuclear plants,
- infrastructures (hardening with respect to lightning),
- systems that might be sensitive to the natural radiation environment (atmospheric neutrons) especially when it comes to reliability (e.g. transportation means).

Elaboration of solutions to ensure that the system, device or equipment can work properly in the specified radiations or EM environment.

Advantages and Innovations:

Specific methods have been developed to address the radiation and EM environments issues taking into account the industrial design constraints at prime contractor or manufacturer level.

This methodology includes:
- an accurate modelling of the physical phenomena (through dedicated software solutions, most of them being in-house developed),
- specific tests, especially for electronic devices and systems, using both in-house and external test facilities. The company has its own set of test benchs available to perfom real time tests and complete theoretical simulation tests.

Engineering domains performed by the company :
- Transient Radiation Effects on Electronics (TREE) induced by the interaction of gamma rays and X rays and neutrons with electronics,
- Single Event Effects (SEE) induced by the interaction of neutrons and heavy particles with electronics,
- Electromagnetic effects induced by the interaction of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), High Power Microwaves, and lightning with the system, and electromagnetic couplings induced by the interaction of X-rays with the system parts,
- Thermo-mechanical effects induced on structures by the intense energy deposition produced by X-rays or lasers.
