Un grupo de científicos de una universidad polaca ha desarrollado nuevos envases biodegradables basados en derivados de papel, almidón y polímeros procedentes de fuentes renovables destinados a la industria alimentaria. Gracias a las soluciones innovadoras empleadas, estos envases son mucho más resistentes a aceites y agua que los productos disponibles en el mercado. A pesar de que estos envases han sido inicialmente desarrollados para pescado y productos de panadería, también son aptos para envasar otros alimentos. Se buscan socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica y licencia.

Scientists from North West Poland university have developed innovative, and biodegradable packagings based on paper derivatives, starch and polymer derived from renewable resources (PLA) for food industry. Thanks to innovative solutions packagings are much more fat and water resistant than currently available on the market. Technical cooperation and license agreements are sought.
Description:
Scientists from North West Poland university designed and selected innovative, biodegradable packagings for food industry. Offered packagins are ecological - based on cellulose and other paper derivatives, starch and polymer derived from reneweable resources. Thanks to innovative solutions packagings are much more fat and water resistant than currently available on the market. One of the technology is modyfing surface based on various natural and environmentally friendly substances such as i.e. organic salts. At the same time, those ecological packagings have variable flexibility and high resistance. Cellulose materials with chitosan (natural) coating are great alternative for packaging made of plastic. Although packagings were tested mainly on fish products and bread (increase of usefulness in case of bread was significant and impressive) packagings can be used to any type of products from food sector.
Researchers are also dealing with package-product interaction, antibacterial and mechanical properties, and full biodegradability.
Technical cooperation and license agreements are sought.
