Description:
A catalan research center developed a complete and lightweight façade totally prefabricated in-factory and dimensioned to fulfil current previsions of the Technical Building Code.
It is a prefabricated façade comprising a plurality of attachable modules to form the outer closure of the façade.
Each façade module comprises a support panel having low thickness and weight, manufactured from a hydraulic conglomerate material.

This prefabricated façade comprises perimeter metal profiles cut to measure in factory in accordance with the dimensions and configuration of each module.

- The support panel is manufactured from fibre-reinforced high-resistance concrete and it comprises a thickness less than or equal to 6 cm and a weight less than or equal to 138 Kg/m2.

-The fibres are steel fibres.

-The metal profiles are extruded aluminium profiles.

Advantages and Innovations:
The result is a complete modular façade prefabricated totally in factory, with lighter weight, which allows customized manufacture.
The support panel has low thickness and weight and is manufactured from fibre-reinforced high-resistance concrete, which acts as the load-bearing wall of the façade and provides continuous support as it ensures air and water tightness.

Thanks to said profiles and the hydraulic conglomerate material used, it is possible to create any flat façade composition, regardless of the dimension and position of the openings for windows or doors.

Main advantages
- The structural configuration of the metal profiles is susceptible of unequivocally guaranteeing the assembly position with the adjacent modules. In this manner, possible assembly errors are avoided and guaranteeing the continuity of the thermal, acoustic, load-bearing and sealing enclosures.

- The inner profiles of the openings include a metal structural pre-frame susceptible of being embedded into the support panel during the production of said panel. Said pre-frame homogeneously distributes the transmission of wind stress towards the support panel. Said pre-frame is manufactured from metal profiles and metal projections that guarantee the transmission of stress from the pre-frame to the support panel.
