Una empresa española, en colaboración con una universidad, ha desarrollado una nueva tecnología (geles bioadhesivos) que permite guiar moléculas tópicas lipofílicas e hidrofílicas de forma efectiva y segura para el tratamiento de enfermedades dermatológicas. El gel bioadhesivo permanece en el lugar de acción durante un período de 6 a 8 horas y actúa como una matriz de liberación sostenida. Los geles producen un film biocompatible transparente e imperceptible en la piel con importantes ventajas estéticas y mejora la adherencia al tratamiento. La empresa busca centros de investigación con el fin de establecer acuerdos de cooperación en materia de investigación.

The technology is based in bioadhesive gels that allow guiding more effectively and safely a range of topical molecules (both lipophilic and hydrophilic).
Over the last 5 years the company has developed clinical and nonclinical studies. According to the results, the bioadhesive gel remains at the site of action for a period of 6 to 8 hours acting as a sustained release matrix. This technology facilitates compliance treatment by the patient.
These gels produce transparent biocompatible films on the skin, non perceptible, and as a result of this there are important aesthetic benefits and improves the adherence to the treatment.
The clinical trials are focused in pathologies with a big market share.
The technology can be applied to all the range of topical molecules. The company is looking for research centres for projects co-development.
Advantages and Innovations:
- Higher efficacy than competitors: according to the in vitro results, bioadhesive properties enhance the permanence of its active ingredient at the site action. These results suggest that treatments with this new drug could reduce the number of applications and also the reduction of sanitary costs.
- Higher safety: due to the lack of polyethylene glycols in its composition, present in the rest of competitors products.
The polyethylene glycols have been described to induce systemic toxicity.
