Description:
The technological centre was created in 2003. It is located in the region of Andalusia (in the south of Spain) and it is considered an international reference for the automotive and packaging industries with a staff of more than 150 highly trained professionals working in innovation- centred facilities spanning more than 10,000 square metres.

Besides de development of research and development projects, the centre offers advanced technological services and specialised training to companies and organizations from all over the world which work with plastics as a product or process, as well as any other industry that can be benefited from the knowledge and technologies employed in the plastics and related sectors.

The technological centre is currently developing innovative laser-light-based devices based on the use of laser diodes coupled with phosphor diffusers. The light sources can perform both higher efficiencies and luminance values than conventional Light Emitting Diode (LED) sources. Moreover, in comparison with other light sources, they can be extremely compact, as well as much more versatile when coupled to light guides.

Regarding the applications, ultra-compact and high efficient automotive headlamps equipped with laser-light sources are highly desired in the automotive market. Moreover, these innovative light sources can also be applied for smart and efficient illumination of large spaces in buildings, thus reducing CO2 emissions.

The technology centre is interested in establishing technical cooperation agreements with industrial partners to collaborate for the development and testing of the innovative laser-light-based devices and also their certification to be market-available.
