3D-printer with electromagnetic changing system of print heads offered to manufacturing company
Summary:
A German microenterprise with extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering has developed its first 3D printer with electromagnetic changing system of extrusion heads. The company seeks to take its prototype into production and bring it into the market. Therefore, the company is intested in getting in a technical cooperation agreement with manufacturing companies already active in the markets focused. Also licensing agreements can be taken into consideration.
Description:
A German family-owned microenterprise, specialized in the field of CAD and manufacturing engineering, wants to open the door to the 3D printer market. The company has developed its first 3D printer that is currently in the prototype phase and aimed to be introduced into the market. The 3D printer is based on the Fused-Filament-Fabrication Method. The highlight of the 3D printer is the electromagnetic changing system of the extrusion heads.
This new developed system enables the full automatic change of the individual print heads during the printing process. Thus, the single full-metal extruder can automatically be exchanged with one of the print heads located outside the print area - in the so-called print head changing station. Therefore, this system allows an unrestricted use of multiple print heads while avoiding a reduction in the printable dimension.
Furthermore, it offers a high level of flexibility - from multi-color printing to combinations of different materials - with constant process reliability and minimum expenditure of installation time. The company is looking for manufacturing companies under a technical cooperation. The partner company should be already well established and active on the 3D printing markets and have a high expertise in the 3D printing technologies. The partner should be able to take over the manufacturing process, as well as offering the product in the respective market with after-sales support. The company is also open to licensing agreements.
Advantages and Innovations:
Advantages and Innovations
- Customer-tailored products: flexibility in size of the printable area, number of print heads in the print head changing station, size of the nozzles, etc.
- Use of multiple print heads with reduced set-up time
- Multi-color printing
- Use of different materials that are compatible with the FFF-method
- Smooth, quiet and accurate printing
- More compact construction of the 3D printer
Stage of Development:
Prototype available for demonstration
IPs:
Patent(s) applied for but not yet granted

Type and Role of Partner Sought:
Industrial partners willing to manufacture the printers and offering the after-sales support.

Simultaneously, the company is open to partners for a license agreement. Partners could be SMEs or larger enterprises. In the framework of a license agreement a partner´s role would be to produce 3D printers that incorporate the company´s developed changing system of print heads and to sell them in the market.
