Sus campos de aplicación se extienden desde comercio electrónico hasta proyectos de domótica. El equipo de investigación transfiere experiencia y resultados de investigación a compañías (start-ups, pymes y multinacionales) en campos tan diversos como sanidad, transporte, energía, comunicaciones, seguridad y protección de privacidad, ciudades inteligentes y fábricas del futuro. It offers to industry and academia a collaboration under a research or a technical cooperation agreement. It is also interested in collaborations under H2020 projects.
Description:
The French research team is part of a R-Y-D center dedicated to computational sciences. The institute is organized in project teams bringing together researchers with complementary skills to focus on specific scientific projects. With this open, agile model, it is able to explore original approaches with its partners in industry and academia. It transfers expertise and research results to companies (startups, SMEs and major multinationals) in fields as diverse as healthcare, transport, energy, communications, security and privacy protection, smart cities and the factory of the future.

In this line, the research team focuses on the introduction of more automation in the adaptation mechanisms of software systems, in particular, transitioning from adaptive systems to self-adaptive systems. They offer their expertise in several fields:
- self-healing: studying and tailoring data mining and machine learning techniques for software engineering and more specially for automatic software repair. The team conducts research on learning from software history how to design software and fix bugs, and on inventing a self-healing capability at run-time.
- self-optimization: sharing, collecting, and analyzing behaviors in a distributed setting for software self-adaptation and dynamic reconfiguration. The team focuses on the study of mechanisms for monitoring, taking decisions, and automatically reconfiguring software at runtime and at various scales. The challenge is for complex distributed system to develop their own capability to continuously reason about themselves and to take appropriate decisions and actions on the optimizations they can apply to improve themselves.
- crowd sensing: mobile devices (such as tablets or smartphones) are equipped with a rich array of sensors which enables a new means of acquiring data, known as crowd-sensing. The research team has developed a solution for safely collecting and exploiting crowd activity data (traffic and road monitoring, social networking and environmental monitoring).
- cloud computing: the research team has developed a framework for the selection and configuration of Cloud providers according to application requirements. The objective is to match application requirements with provider capabilities and select a suitable one. Specific scripts to the selected provider are generated in order to enable its configuration.

Furthermore, it has developed several software solutions and platforms it can use based on client needs.

Application can range from e-commerce to digital home projects.

The research team offers to collaborate under research or technical cooperation agreements with industry and academia. It is also interested in joining existing consortia in EU projects including H2020 projects.
